Why would we do this? Call it professional curiosity. Don’t worry, don't worry, you can still triple portal to victory per usual in other modes, but you’ll be without the thing that makes Splitgate Splitgate while in this playlist.
So, what exactly is in your arsenal? Well, you’ll have jetpacks, guns, and, uh, that’s about it, Champ.

Two core Splitgate maps are available. We played many tests without portals, only to discover very few of our maps are fun without portals. Oasis and Pantheon made the cut. But, for the first time ever, we are also including community made custom maps in the mix! These maps are specially made to play without Portals. In fact, they don’t even have portal walls.

Portals are direct gateways between two points in space, which can be created by the player to navigate around Maps in Splitgate. Both portals can be created separately, by using the player's arm-mounted Portal Gun.
The game's unique core mechanic is the ability to spawn Portals onto Portal Walls. These gateways can be used strategically to outsmart and outplay the player's opponents by flanking them from behind, navigating to a better position for combat or to quickly flee from a dangerous position.
The better way to close a portal in a hurry is by press left or right on your controller's d-pad - that's Z and X on your PC's keyboard. These buttons will close each of your coloured portals automatically, meaning if you desire, you can close off everything you've opened so far.
How to unlock the Trickster achievement. You must earn a kill using portal placement. To do this, an enemy with full health must go through your portal, and then fall to their death as a result.
Amidst the flurry of speculation, rumours had circulated that servers for the original Splitgate might be shutting down. However, it is clear that the video serves as a sendoff to the first game while teasing the successor. Servers for Splitgate will remain online for the foreseeable future.
While the game does have guns and bombs, it isn't violent. When you die, you just fall on the ground. Very rarely you see blood, and when you do it's just a small line of red in the floor. This game is very friendly and not intended to be inappropriate, scary, or violent.
There are Bots in Splitgate, in both the online modes, and in custom servers where you can practice your skills. Bots will often pop up when there aren't enough players to matchmake for a good game, and you'll be able to identify bots with their fairly simple screen names - in addition to their lacklustre skills.
Successfully using dispel magic could stop the working of a portal for up to twenty four seconds. It required a Mordenkainen's disjunction spell to turn a portal permanently non-functional. Another means was the gate seal spell. A tool to manipulate and glean information from portals was a staff of portals.
Developers posted updates on the server's status on their Twitter accounts until the system was removed in August 2021. In September 2022, the developers announced that they had ceased feature development on Splitgate to focus on a sequel created using Unreal Engine 5.
While there is a separate medal for getting a kill through a portal, the act of earning a portal kill is different. You'll need to get an enemy to fall to their death by entering your portal — a task that is difficult to achieve since it's reliant on the actions of another player.
Like a Nether portal, this requires a 5 by 4 frame. The difference being with the Aether portal created by glowstone blocks. You still don't have to fill the corners with glowstone. Activate it by right-clicking the inside of the glowstone with a bucket of water.
