Thomas Brian Richard, 42, of Union City died 2:30 p.m. Thursday, July 10, 2014, at Regional Hospital "The Med" in Memphis of injuries received in an ATV accident in Obion County on March 22.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Ike Murphy and Brother Vernon Alexander will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Jerome Cemetery in Fancy Farm, Kentucky.
The family will receive friends at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday.
Pallbearers will be Joey Nelson, Chad Dill, Chuck Goetz, Bruce Collins, Richard Ballard and Mike Workman.
Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Tyson Foods, Tim Courtney, Tom Kalberer, Mike Swatzell and Jeff Klotz.
Brian was born September 2, 1971, in Clinton, Kentucky, son Pat Ellegood of Melber, Kentucky and the late Thomas Edward Richard. He married Michelle (Wood) Richard March 1, 2003. She survives. Brian had been employed as a maintenance supervisor at Tyson Foods for the past 17 years and was the owner of Richard's Mechanic Shop. He was of the Catholic faith.
He is also survived by his son and his fiancée, Shawn Richard and Kayla Walker of Mayfield, Kentucky; his daughter, Jessica Richard of Mayfield, Kentucky; his step father, William Ellegood of Melber, Kentucky; his grandson, Lane Richard of Mayfield, Kentucky; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Cindy Gore of Murray, Kentucky, Teresa and Jason Gregory and Amy and Ricky Turner all of Mayfield, Kentucky; and several aunts and uncles.
