I think it is absolutely true that when you cook or prepare food with love it does taste better. Energy is energy, and transfers! I always try to think of that when I’m preparing food or when I’m cooking, give gratitude and sometimes sing or say mantras.

It doesn’t have to be this long (or weird! :) ) thing. Just something simple, like even “Om shanti”! for peace and helping you focus on good intentions can be an amazing and simple practice to bring into your life!

Today I’m offering you my new Papaya ‘n Greens Smoothie Recipe—packed with enzymes and more, and a joyful, vibrant green color (the color of love!). Give this smoothie a try!

Greens & Your Fourth Heart Chakra: Anahata

The chakra system comes to us from India, and is something that has fascinated me for years, ever since I went to India for the first time on my around the world trip. I hadn’t really heard of chakras before then, and had no idea what they were when I first heard about them. Chak-what the heck?!

But fast forward to years later and lots of study and research about them. I go into a lot of detail about the chakras and how to balance them in The Beauty Detox Power, which is more about the mind’s role in health and how subtle energies that have a big impact on how we feel and look.

But in general, the chakras are energy wheels located up and down our spines (which transcend to the front and back of our bodies) which correspond to different energies, including emotions. For instance, a “gut feeling” is about feeling things in your solar plexus chakra. Energies are of different forms, including colors. Each chakra has a corresponding energy color, and green is the color of the heart chakra.

The heart chakra is anatomically located right in your chest, around your physical heart. It corresponds to love, compassion and empathy.

One of the ways you can support the energy of each chakra is to eat foods that are the color that corresponds to it. So as green is the color of the heart chakra, you can eat green foods to help support it.

There are many fruits and veggies in the color group but today we’ll be adding green apples, spinach and lime, which are great choices in rebalancing and supporting your heart area, and really, your entire body.

If you’ve an avid drinker of my Glowing Green Smoothie®, then you will have noticed just how much more alive and connected you feel. This is because there are tremendous amounts of nutrients and also, these fresh greens are alive and vibrating with the green color that supports your heart!

Beauty Fruit: Papaya

Papaya is an amazing beauty fruit (be sure to source non-GMO).

Rich in antioxidant nutrients (like carotenes, vitamin C and flavonoids, B vitamins, folate and pantothenic acid), and minerals (like potassium, copper, and magnesium and fiber), these nutrients promote the health of our colons—keeping us like a well-oiled machine. This is because the papaya’s fiber binds to toxins in our system…so bind- away!

Speaking of being well-oiled, click here if you need that extra boost in supplying your body with improved digestive health and friendly bacteria!

Papaya also contains digestive enzymes (papain), which helps cleanse the skin and is high in essential Vitamins A and C.

Sometimes, I just cut a whole big huge papaya in half, scoop out the seeds, and eat it like a bowl of ice cream :). Just be sure to eat it on an empty stomach so your body can take full advantage of its healthy digestive power and assimilation.

Let’s take a look at the steps…

Here’s another super-simple mantra to invoke your connection to higher love and gratitude: Om Namah Shivaya: “I bow down to the light within”. It sounds cool (I love Sanskrit!) and has all good vibes behind it :). Let me know your favorite tune or mantra and don’t forget to add this recipe to your Pinterest Smoothie board!

Happy blending!

All love,
