McDonald's is the most well-known restaurant chain in the U.S. Founded in 1940 in San Bernardino, California, the American fast-food chain is recognized by 92 percent of internet respondents. Following closely are four different restaurant chains, namely Burger King, KFC and Wendy's, as each one of these fast-food brands incorporates a brand awareness above 90 percent among online consumers in the United States.
For this study, brand awareness was surveyed employing the concept of aided brand recognition, showing respondents both the brand's logo and the written brand name.
