Bolton Wanderers vs Leeds United U21 LIVE: Papa John youth tie second half updates

Unbeaten Leeds Under-21 side will see their record come under scrutiny tonight as the young Whites take on League 1 side Bolton Wanderers in the Papa John Trophy.

United won their opening game in Group B of the Northern Section two weeks ago, beating Tranmere Rovers 5-3 in a thrilling encounter on Merseyside.

Bolton are currently top of the Leeds group after beating Crewe Alexandra 4-1 and drawing 2-2 with Tranmere. Due to the nature of the competition, ties in 90 minutes are settled by a penalty shootout, with the losing team receiving one point and the winning team receiving two.

Victory tonight would put either team in a strong position to qualify for the knockout stage of this year’s Papa John’s Trophy, depending on the outcome of Tranmere’s match with Crewe which would take place in same time.

Kick-off in Bolton is at 7 p.m. Live updates throughout the evening, plus post-match roster, team news and player ratings here.
