Crystal Palace 2-1 Leeds United highlights: Jesse Marsch faces the media after Palace loss

Marsch presided over two draws against the Eagles, once in the Premier League and once on the Whites’ pre-season tour of Australia.

There has been little to separate the two sides throughout 2022, but Leeds currently sit four places and three points above the south London side with one more win to their name this year.

Marsch and Vieira’s rivalry dates back to their overlapping stints in Major League Soccer where the pair fought as bosses of New York Red Bulls and New York City FC, respectively.

Despite the absence of Luis Sinisterra through suspension, Leeds have a largely in-form squad to choose from this weekend and will be nearly complete for today’s 2pm kick-off.

Set-up, team news, analysis, minute-by-minute live coverage, full-time reaction and notes here throughout the afternoon.

Most opponents turn to him. This means he has to find faster solutions. I think he had a good game in general, I think a lot of our players played pretty well.

We just have to live in the moment. We must continue to believe. I know we got the right kind of people in the locker room

It’s a weird season with the break. In some ways the Chelsea game was bad for us, it put the teams on notice. I think we’ve played better in the last five games than two points.

I love this team, I believe in this team. I know we will improve and continue to improve.

Easily his best performance in a Leeds shirt, very happy for him

Patrick is clearly in good physical shape. In general I thought he was fine, on a day when he was a bit sharper I think he finds a purpose. Firpo picked up a little something after the last game. It will be ready next week.

My experience is that it comes together. It’s difficult for me, we have a young team, we have to keep developing. Here we are not able to reward ourselves with cluster goals.

Coopers knows that was not a necessary foul. We’re proud of set pieces, so that’s disappointing. We were more sensitive to free kicks than corners. Again, we have great chances in the second half and even in the first half, if we can be a bit more specific in the final third.

The performance in the first half, we should have been able to come in with a lead. If you look at a series of games where we’ve been in control for big games, we’re not scoring enough goals.
