National Clean Beauty Day has gone on for years. Shortly after legendary celebrity hairstylist and haircare pioneer Frédéric Fekkai sold his namesake brand in 2008, he realized that the beauty industry had yet to caught up with the rest of the world in terms of clean product formulations and sustainability. . A strong advocate of environmentally friendly practices, Frédéric sought to bring clean formulas and sustainability to the beauty category and in November 2018, he bought his brand and set his vision in motion. FEKKAI, the first hair care collection that delivers salon results with eco-friendly packaging and the most optimal plant-derived ingredients, launched in early 2020.

As a result, in its first year, FEKKAI purchased 64 million grams of post-consumer waste, disposing of 330 tonnes of plastic waste and redirecting it to recycling plants.
