The final of The Great British Bake Off 2023 has arrived. The new series of the popular Channel 4 baking contest has seen 12 bakers battling it out to be crowned the latest winner.

Keen to impress judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith in the famous tent, this year's series has also welcomed new presenter Alison Hammond. The popular This Morning star has been hosting alongside Noel Fielding.

The contestants have been whittled down week after week to the three finalists, Matty, Dan and Josh. So what will the Bake Off winner take away with them, apart from the glory?

There will be no prize money for the winning baker. Instead, the reigning champion will simply be handed flowers and a cake stand.

Whilst the prize may be slightly understated many of the Bake Off stars do go on to earn well after the show, using their newfound fame and cooking expertise to make public and TV appearances, produce their own cookbooks and even launch cooking schools.

Success stories include Nadiya Hussain, who has since written various newspaper columns, fronted TV show The Chronicles Of Nadiya, released a best-selling cookbook and has been a guest presenter on Loose Women. Series 12 winner Giuseppe Dell'Anno announced the release of his first cookbook in May 2022.

The Great British Bake Off final will kick off tonight (Tuesday, November 28) at 8pm on Channel 4. It will run for one hour, ending at 9pm with this year's winner crowned. Posting about the final, the official Bake Off social media page said: "Join our awesome foursome of Alison, Noel, Paul, and Prue for the final adventure of the series in the Tent of Dreams tonight!"
